Voluntary Employee Benefits

News

Did you know JMU has multiple contracts for voluntary employee benefits offered through payroll deduction?  These benefits are available to both part-time and full-time faculty and staff.  Voluntary benefits differ from traditional benefits in the way enrollment and payment occur.  For voluntary benefits, employees enroll individually and pay 100% of the cost while taking advantage of a group rate discount.

The University currently offers the following voluntary employee benefits:

  • Supplemental Insurance - AFLAC
  • 529 College Savings Plan - FIRM
  • Identify Theft Protection Services – LegalShield
  • Pre-Paid Legal Services – LegalShield
  • Home, Auto, and Renter’s Insurance - MetLife
  • Pet Insurance - Veterinary Pet Insurance (VPI)

For additional information regarding the voluntary benefits listed above, please see HR's site.
