2015 Department Award Recipients

The Department congratulates the recipients of the Mathematics & Statistics Department's Student Awards.  Recipients are:

Ikenberry Award for an outstanding graduating senior in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics.
Deelan Jalil
Amy Vess Crizer Award which recognizes a graduating senior for accomplishment across the spectrum of academic ability, work ethic, attitude, quality of character, and outreach.
Traymon Beavers
Pure Mathematics Award recognizing a graduating senior for accomplishment in pure mathematics coursework.
Rachel Allen
Secondary Mathematics Future Teacher Award which recognizes outstanding accomplishment by a senior mathematics major who is completing a minor in education and preparing for a career in pre-college teaching.
Alison Curwin and Lindsay Pilong
Statistics Major Award for a graduating senior for exceptional accomplishment in statistics.
Rebecca Neal
Statistics Minor Award recognizing n outstanding graduating senior with a major in another discipline who has completed a program of study in statistics.
Zachary Buchin
IDLS Mathematics Future Teacher Award which recognizes outstanding accomplishment in mathematics by a graduating senior in IDLS who is preparing for a career in teaching at the elementary or middle grade level.
Rachel Franklin
Mathematics and Statistics Research Awards for research accomplishments in the mathematical sciences.
Charles Crook (Mathematics), Justin Hall (Mathematics), Jeffrey Kopsick (Mathematics) and Cassandra Poole (Mathematics)
Senior Honors Project Awards recognizing students who earn six credit hours in Honors for work that culminates in a significant research project through the JMU Honors Program
Emily Hunt (Mathematics) and Megan Kohanik (Mathematics)
