Alternative Spring Break in Jamaica

The Honors Program will offer its first Alternative Spring Break in Spring 2014 -- a trip to Jamaica led by the Honors Director, Dr. Barry Falk. A group of 10-12 Honors students will work with a community organization in Petersfield, a small community about 20 miles northwest of Negril, while living in family homes. Although the focus will be service work and cultural experiences, there will also be opportunities to visit Jamaican beaches, rivers, and forests, among other diversions. The total cost of the trip will (including airfare) is anticipated to be about $1600 per person.

The dates are March 8-15, 2014. This program is open to JMU Honors students only. If interested, contact Dr. Barry Falk, Honors Program Director: falkbl@jmu.edu.
