UHC Spotlight: Kent Diduch, MD

Dr. Diduch is a native Virginian who graduated from The College of William and Mary and The University of Virginia School of Medicine. He is a board-certified family physician and a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Diduch also serves JMU as an associate professor in the Department of Health Sciences and as the Medical Director for the athletic training and physician assistant academic programs. Dr. Diduch serves on the Sports Medicine Advisory Committee for the Virginia High School League and has been an invited speaker on several occasions to conferences throughout the Commonwealth on primary care sports medicine related topics.

Before joining JMU, Dr. Diduch was in private practice in Bridgewater, Va. for 10 years. During this time he also was a clinical instructor in the Department of Family Medicine at U.Va. and helped the athletes from Fort Defiance High School and Bridgewater College. He has been practicing medicine for 22 years and speaks both English and Spanish.

“I took a position at JMU because Sports Medicine was part of the package. I really wanted the experience to do both,” he said.

When not working, Dr. Diduch likes cycling and spending time with his family. His wife is a professor of economics at Mary Baldwin College and they have one daughter, Emma.
