October is Fat Talk Free Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Red Flag Month.
The University Health Center is supporting the Red Flag Campaign which addresses dating violence and stalking and promotes the prevention of both on college campuses. The UHC is also supporting Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority's efforts to raise breast cancer awareness. And the University Health Center is teaming up with the REACH, Operation Beautiful, Fraternity & Soririty Life, UREC, and the Counseling Center to end fat talk, which is any language that reinforces the notion that we have to strive for thinness or muscle definition to be considered attractive.
