Internship Panel lead by Leandra Rios - 2018

For students looking to get valuable work experience in their field, an internship is a necessary but sometimes intimidating step. On Oct. 3, the Office of Experiential Learning hosted a panel discussion aimed at demystifying the process of securing one of those coveted spots. Fresh from successful internships of their own, upperclassmen panelists Ariana Abousaeedi, Emily Alford, Paige Majdic, Leandra Rios and Will Sevila held a discussion with some 50 students who are aiming to land an internship.

Computer Information Systems major Leandra Rios, who interned with the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, said, “I really enjoyed my experience on the panel. The internship search can be stressful and time consuming, especially while balancing classes and extracurriculars.” Rios was happy to pass along her knowledge, adding, “I'm hoping the advice that I gave can help students prepare, as well as give them confidence to pursue the internships they really want.”
