JMU CoB CIS Ranked Among Top 5 in Nation

SUMMARY: CIS landed near the top of the annual list by College Factual, which ranks programs offered by 4-year U.S. Colleges and Universities.


James Madison University performed extremely well in a recent ranking of computer information systems degree programs, where it was placed No. 5 out of 347 nationwide, rising one spot on the list since last year.

For the second year in a row, James Madison University's computer information systems program has also been ranked No. 1 out of 13 in the state of Virginia, designating it as the best in the state.

An enthusiastic Art Gowan, Department Head and R. Jarl Bliss Faculty Scholar, said, “The Computer Information Systems and Business Analytics faculty at JMU are a caring, dedicated group of educators who are committed to creating an active, experiential learning environment that prepares graduates to hit the ground running. Our alumni are amazing! They cannot wait to return to JMU to give back and recruit, resulting in very high placement rates. It is an honor to be a part of this outstanding program!”
