Marketing Advisory Board Meeting - Fall 2016

The College of Business (CoB) welcomed the Department of Marketing's Executive Advisory Council (EAC) to campus on Friday, Oct. 7. After an update of the department and the planned new Learning Complex, seven current board members and six prospective members worked alongside faculty to review the marketing curriculum, including the core marketing courses, the digital marketing area of emphasis and the professional sales concentration. During three breakout sessions, the groups evaluated how well established learning objectives meet current industry trends while identifying future curriculum needs. At the end of the day, marketing students had the opportunity to network with board members and to be matched with a mentor. Board members--most of them JMU alumni--and students enjoyed having a chance to get to know each other and look forward to strengthening their connections in the future.
