NIRSA Leadership Award 2016

SUMMARY: Will Trent selected as the 2016-2017 NIRSA Student Leader.


The National Intramural-Recreation Sports Association (NIRSA) has elected Will Trent, a Sports and Recreation Leadership graduate student and Marketing and Social Media Graduate Assistant at UREC, as the 2016-2017 NIRSA Student Leader. He will serve on the NIRSA Team Member Network with 15 other members to enhance outreach within the regional network and create opportunities for other members. NIRSA is comprised of over 4,500 individuals from roughly 850 institutions. In June, Trent participated in a week of strategic planning meetings in Washington D.C. with the Executive Director and Board of NIRSA. NIRSA was formed in 1950 and serves to foster lifelong habits of wellbeing while teaching leadership, teamwork, dedication and respect through inclusive competition, fitness and recreation.
