Management Professor Bill Wales Featured in


CoB Faculty Bill WalesBill Wales, professor of management, was recently quoted in a story on The story was about bad bosses - the bully, the narcissist, the know-it-all, and even the psychopath. Bill says he was contacted as a result of a recent article, “In Pursuit of Greatness: CEO Narcissism, Entrepreneurial Orientation, and Firm Performance Variance,” in the Journal of Management Studies.

He says his research has shown that narcissistic chief executives tend to lead more entrepreneurial companies. That doesn't mean that they are more successful, he notes. It just means that they are much more likely to take big risks or make bold moves, which may end up being major coups or miserable failures.

"You're getting both bigger wins and bigger losses,"Bill says.
