The U.S. Army has developed a solution for military personnel suffering post-surgey from malfunctioning legs. The Intrepid Dynamic Exoskeletal Orthosis is an energy retaining "carbon-fiber exoskeleton that attaches below the knee and connects to a foot plate that fits into a shoe." Moreover, the device will be available to civilians.
