  • Publications

    Emily Thyroff (undergrad of Dr. Heather Griscom) and Griscom.  “Experimental study of soil and aspect on American Ginseng in an Appalachian Cove Ecosystem” in Natural Areas Journal.

  • Grants

    Dr. David McLeod (with VT colleagues).  4VA grant titled “Automatic identification of Limnonectes species using image analysis and data analytic classification systems”

    Graduate school travel grants to graduate students (Peters, Encinias, Kovacs, Hussey, Verdream) to attend Association of Southeastern Biologists meeting 

  • Awards

    Holly Rucker (undergrad of Dr. Rocky Parker), won best student presentation at the 2019 Society for Integrative and Comparative Biology (SICB) annual meeting. She competed in the Division of Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology and beat out PhD students and postdocs to win this award.

    Gabrielle Lewis (undergrad of Dr. Mark Gabriele) is a finalist for a Fulbright Scholarship.

    Hannah Eisemann, Bailie Lavan and Jacob Peters (all graduate students) for their achievements at the graduate school's 3 minute thesis presentation competition: Hannah won first place, Bailie third place, and Jacob the People’s Choice award.
