Staunton Daily News Leader
NewsSUMMARY: Waist deep in a mountain stream, Pat Harmon sports a Ghostbuster-esque backpack labeled "LR-24 Electrofisher." He's accompanied by three net-equipped assistants. Their prey? The small, elusive and ghost-like fish that populate these isolated waterways. Like canaries in a coal mine, these small aquatic creatures are the key to measuring the stream's health. Harmon will spend his summer wearing waders and counting fish in local waterways to see if these streams are recovering from decades of damage.
