Ongoing situation at 1100 block of Devon Lane

Update, 3pm: The incident at 1173 Devon Lane has been resolved. Subject has been taken into custody. Law Enforcement will continue on scene investigation.  

There is ongoing police activity at The Harrison apartment complex at the 1100 block of Devon Lane. Surrounding buildings have been evacuated. Continue to avoid the area.

What is known at this time is that a suspect, who is not a JMU student, is barricaded inside of an apartment. The JMU Police Department is providing support to the Harrisonburg Police Department, the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office and the Virginia State Police, who are responding to the incident.

There is no threat to campus. Students will be made aware when it is safe to return to the Devon Lane area. Follow @JMU on Twitter and www.jmu.edu for updates.
