University statement on the passing of Harriet Cobb

The James Madison University family is deeply saddened by the recent news of Dr. Harriet Cobb’s sudden passing.  Dr. Cobb served as a professor in the department of graduate psychology.  Dr. Cobb’s life impacted many people during her 32 years of service at James Madison University.  It is with heavy hearts that we extend our deepest sympathies to Dr. Cobb’s family, friends, colleagues and students.  She will be missed.

A service to honor and remember Dr. Cobb will be held Sunday, March 24, at 6 p.m. in Ballroom A of the Festival Conference and Student Center at JMU.

Counseling is available to students, faculty and staff of the JMU community who are impacted by this very sad news.  The JMU Counseling and Student Development Center can be reached at 540-568-6552.
