JMU 'Big Ideas' Flood In, Now Time To ChooseThe James Madison University community was asked in November to propose big ideas for the Quality Enhancement Plan required by reaffirmation of the university’s SACS accreditation.
By the mid-January deadline 76 QEP proposals were received. Big ideas on how to improve student learning ranged in topic from citizenship and environmental stewardship to instructional technology and class scheduling. Lee Sternberger, chair of the QEP Committee remarked, "While we believe our solicitation process was successful at reaching out broadly, the tremendous response is more expressive of the JMU community's deep commitment to constantly improving student learning."
At this stage in the QEP process the JMU community now has the opportunity to view and comment on all the submitted proposals at the JMU QEP Blog. The blog will remain live all during February as the QEP Committee evaluates the proposals and narrows the 76 down to a handful showing the most promise.
