NELSON INSTITUTE DIRECTOR CO-AUTHORS COMMENTARY ON ANTI-ISRAELI DIVESTMENT CAMPAIGN

March 6, 2006

HARRISONBURG—Dr. J. Peter Pham, director of the Nelson Institute for International and Public Affairs at James Madison University, co-authored a commentary with Professor Michael I. Krauss of George Mason University School of Law on recent high-profile campaigns to divest from companies doing business with the government of Israel or private Israeli businesses, arguing that the application of a “hypercritical attitude” or a “double standard…that is often diametrically opposed to that employed with respect to any other country in the world” smacks of anti-Semitism.

The professors’ essay, entitled “Divesting Moral Authority,” appears in today’s issue of Technology Commerce and Society Daily and is available online at http://www.tcsdaily.com/article.aspx?id=030606G.
