Nelson Institute Director Comments on Liberian Election on WMRA

HARRISONBURG—Dr. J. Peter Pham, director of the Nelson Institute for International and Public Affairs at James Madison University, was featured today on National Public Radio (NPR) local affiliate WMRA 90.7 commenting on the recent Liberian elections.

Dr. Pham spoke to David Molpus for his feature Reporter’s Notebook.

Dr. Pham is the author of Liberia: Portrait of a Failed State, a study of the roots of conflict in the West African country that has been critically acclaimed in Foreign Affairs, American Foreign Policy Interests, Wilson Quarterly, and other scholarly publications. Having previously served as an international diplomat in Liberia, Dr. Pham recently returned there as a member of the United States delegation observing the first round of the election.
