NELSON INSTITUTE DIRECTOR DISCUSSES DARFUR CRISIS ON VOA PERSPECTIVES PROGRAM

HARRISONBURG—Dr. J. Peter Pham, Director of the Nelson Institute for International and Public Affairs at James Madison University, discussed recent developments in the Darfur crisis on the Voice of America (VOA) TV to Africa’s Perspectives program today. The program was broadcast at 3:45 p.m. Greenwich Mean Time.

Perspectives is VOA TV to Africa’s daily English-language television program for viewers in sub-Saharan Africa. Hosted by Ndimyake Mwakalyelye, the Monday through Friday program presents a unique perspective on issues affecting people on the African continent using a magazine format and combining information about Africa, the United States, and the world. Host Ndimyake Mwakalyelye interviews newsmakers, analysts, government officials, and everyday citizens to get a variety of opinions on issues and events affecting the African continent, while lighter topics, including pop culture, box office hits, music, sports, and highlights from Hollywood, round out the program.
