erin-rettig.pngBachelor of Music in Music Performance, 1996

What are you currently doing/what is current job?

I currently work as the Supervising Engineer for Music Scoring at 20th Century Fox in Los Angeles.

Do you get back to campus and, if so, how often?

I would love to visit more often, but living in California makes it a little difficult.

Anything you want to share?

Here is a little excerpt from my Bio:

Erin was born and raised in Virginia Beach, Va on the east coast of the U.S. He grew up with one sister and began playing the piano at age 6, then the cello at age 9. Erin then went on to study music in college at James Madison University, focusing in cello performance. He also has a Master’s Degree from Pepperdine University in Media Production.

After his undergraduate studies, he and his wife, Soon Hee, moved to Central Florida, where they worked extensively as performing and recording musicians. Erin was fortunate to work with such artists as Ray Charles, Shakira, James Galway, Johnny Mathis, and Neil Sedaka. In addition to performing the cello, Erin also became very involved in the recording and film scene. It was at this point that he and his wife decided to move to Los Angeles to work exclusively in the film business.

Once in Los Angeles, Erin was hired by Technicolor’s feature film post production division, where he worked for 3 years. After that, he was hired by 20th Century Fox, where he has served as a Supervising Sound Engineer in the Post Production Services division, and is currently the Supervising Engineer for Music Scoring.

Some of Erin’s more recent scoring film credits include: “Bumblebee,” “Alita: Battle Angel,” and “Aquaman.”
