JMU FEMALE INSTITUTE FOR LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
The Female Institute is a two-week residential program designed to provide an intense academic and developmental experience for high school students. The program offers an array of experiences that encourage the pursuit of positive and self-directed life choices through post-secondary educational opportunities. The Institute provides academic, social and cultural strategies that prepare participants to enhance their academic profiles; to build their levels of self-awareness and self-esteem; to broaden their potential career and life goals; and to adopt a service-oriented attitude toward their greater communities.

JMU MALE ACADEMY FOR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT & DEVELOPMENT
The Male Academy is an intensive pre-collegiate, residential experience that serves to enhance overall application of academic skills, increase motivation toward attending college, promote personal success, expand career awareness, and expose students to the concept of team and community building. This program will provide young men an opportunity to improve their academic skills, build their self-awareness and esteem, explore career and life goals, and learn more about how they can contribute toward their communities through service.
