CMSS is the place where all students can celebrate diversity!

 

MissionStatement:To create and sustain a vibrant Jewish community on campus by providing enriching programming for the entire James Madison University community.

 

                                     Hillel's three major programs

 

 

1)     Holocaust Remembrance Week:   A week long series of events focusing on the Holocaust (Shoah). In recent years this event has grown to additionally focus on genocide throughout the world. This event generally occurs in mid-April.

 

2)   IsraelWeek:  A week long series of events focusing on culture, people, politics, and history of the State of Israel. The occurrence of this event varies each year.

 

3)  Interfaith Passover Seder: A Passover Seder, which highlights the biblical Jewish exodus from Egypt, in which interfaith groups are invited to participate. This program draws together the interfaith community for a Jewish holiday which holds relevance for multiple religions. This event normally takes occurs in April or May.

 

 

                  Elections are normally held: Mid-November
