MissionStatement:The purpose of this organization is to gain more knowledge of the continent of Africaand its contributions to civilization;

Carry out activities such as showing films and inviting scholars to speak to the JMU community about Africa; participate in cultural activities that display African cultural and tradition in song and dance; carry out activities that will enhance the image of the African Student Organization and the image of African students on campus.

 

 

             ASO'sthree major programs:

 

·        Taste of Africa:This program features a variety of foods from while presenting a speaker and dance expression.

 

·        Celebration of Change:This programs is celebrating some of the changes of the negative aspects of Africa.

 

·        International Cultural Show
