Multicultural Attaché Program
The Multicultural Attaché Program contributes to the diversity efforts of James Madison University through the development and facilitation of events and activities for the student body in support of creating an inclusive campus environment. The program specifically supports first-year residential students by creating opportunities to increase their awareness and education as it relates to diversity and multiculturalism.
Events and activities are coordinated by a dedicated group of ten James Madison University students, also known as Multicultural Attachés. The role of a Multicultural Attaché consists of promoting diversity in their assigned resident halls as well as encouraging the transitioning student body to embrace multiculturalism. To achieve these goals, Multicultural Attachés coordinate and maintain the following items throughout the academic year:
- Diversity Events/Activities
- Monthly Community-building Activities
- Campus-wide Diversity Programs
- Weekly Resident Hall Office Hours
- Weekly Office Hours in the Center for Multicultural Student Services
