Multicultural Attachés
2007/2008
The CMSS Multicultural Attachés promote diversity awareness
throughout the
JMU community by encouraging the transitioning student body to
embrace
multiculturalism. The program places special emphasis on
assisting and
supporting the first year multicultural students who are adjusting
to life
at James Madison University. The Attaché is
responsible for working within
a team to plan and promote diversity programs within their assigned
residence hall. Programs and events increase learning and
exposure to a
variety of cultures with a goal of creating opportunities for
dialog and
cultural/ethnic conversations.
A team of ten Attachés
work to reach out to eight different residence
halls:
Chesapeake Hall - Emmanuel Jefferson
Eagle Hall - Kelly Greer and Brandon Artis
Hanson Hall - Stephany Herzog
Hillside Hall - Auditi Gomes
Ikenberry Hall - Cynthia Ferrufino
McGraw Long Hall - Nathan Banister
Potomac Hall - Kathleen Brennan
Potomac Hall - Quinncee Payne
Shorts Hall - Jacquelin Jackson
Look for your Attaché to find answers to like:
What can I do for fun tonight?
How did you find your group of friends on campus?
Is there an organization out there that looks at my interests?
How can I find out more about my heritage and cultural traditions?
Do you want to go to dinner?
