DAVID HARVEY JOINED HALE AND DORR LLP AS MID-ATLANTIC BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER and will lead the marketing and practice development efforts of approximately 80 attorneys in Hale and Dorr's Washington, D.C., and Reston offices. Harvey is well known in the venture capital, technology and biotech communities of the greater capital region. A former economic development official, Harvey is widely credited with having transformed Fairfax County into a major center for venture capital activity. During his tenure as director of client services at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, he continued to advise the management teams of promising emerging growth companies on business issues strategic to their growth. Harvey has also been active in local networking events and organizations, serving on the advisory boards of Tech Transfer 2003 and VC 2003 DC, and is active in the Northern Virginia Technology Council, American Society for Microbiology Resources and the British American Business Association. He is a member of the eIncubator Board of Advisors and serves as vice chairman of the Century Club Grubstake Breakfast, an early stage investment forum. Hale and Dorr's 500 lawyers represent clients in numerous sectors including telecommunications, software, electronics, life sciences and medical devices.
