If your daughter is registering for EYH, we encourage you to register as well.  Registered adults can attend one or both of the adult workshops and accompany their student to her workshops during the other sessions.  Adults also have the option of accompanying their student to all of her student workshops.

Helping Your Daughter Prepare for a STEM Career

Would you like to discuss ways to support your daughter's interest in a STEM (science, math, technology, and engineering) career? Would you like to interact with other parents who have daughters interested in STEM fields? Do you have questions about how your daughter can navigate middle and high school in order to prepare for these careers? Would you like to meet and share information with other parents and gain insights from a university faculty member who has personal and professional experience with young women and their science and math pursuits? If so, then this workshop is for you. Join Colleen Watson, Instructor of Mathematics and Statistics at JMU, who will facilitate a discussion geared toward how you can help your daughter prepare for a career in science, math, technology, or engineering. This workshop is open to all parents and teachers who are accompanying students to EYH.

Admissions and Financial Aid Presentation

It is never too early to start thinking about how to help your daughter apply to college.  Join Michael Walsh, JMU Dean of Admissions, for an informative presentation on college admissions and financial aid.  Learn about the process of applying to college and what a school like JMU expects in terms of college preparation.  Find out the basics about financial aid and scholarships.  There will be plenty of time for questions.  This workshop is open to all parents and teachers who are accompanying students to EYH.
