Ms. Joyce W. Guthrie

Ms. Joyce W. Guthrie is currently the Associate Dean for Student Services for the College of Business, James Madison University.  She started her career at JMU in 1991 as an instructor of marketing.  In 1993 she assumed the position of Assistant Dean for the college; and moved into her present position in 1997.

Currently, Ms. Guthrie is responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of policies and procedures related to academic student services.  In this capacity, she is also the Director of the CoB Academic Services Center for the college, which provides comprehensive academic advising services to 3,600 students, as well as prospective students who are interested in pursuing a major in business.  She also teaches the marketing principles course and a course in integrated marketing communications.

Ms. Guthrie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Howard University and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Harvard Business School.
