Keezell Hall was originally named Reed Hall after Walter Reed. Later the infirmary was named in Reed's honor and the building was renamed for Virginia State Sen. George B. Keezell, who was instrumental in having JMU located in Harrisonburg. It was built in 1927 and renovated in 1987 to add classrooms and offices in the original natatorium.
