Research and Professional Interests
Dr. Goodman’s scholarly research focuses on social contexts within organizations, employee socialization/ development, and the process by which organizations and employees perceive, cope, and/or manipulate their environment. Specifically his research has investigated accountability, emotion regulation, employee relations, organizational politics and work related attitudes and behaviors. Currently, his research is published in the Journal of Business and Entrepreneurship, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business and Psychology, DATABASE for Advances in Information Systems, Human Performance, and Southern Law Journal. Dr. Goodman’s collaborative research with Darren Treadway, Ph.D., was recognized by Emerald Management Reviews as one of the top 50 papers of 2005.

Dr. Goodman has performed management roles in a variety of industries, including health care, construction, and retail. Additionally, he is a U.S. Army Veteran and received the Expert Field Medical Badge, the highest peacetime accomplishment for medical personnel.
