Bill Wilson, Director of the Madison InstitutesBill Wilson, Director of the Madison Institutes joined James Madison in 2002 from Michigan Technological University where he had been the Director of Student Activities. Prior to that, he had served five years as the Student Services Coordinator at the University of Missouri-Rolla. Bill has a Bachelor of Science degree from Longwood University and a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration from Texas A&M University.

As the Director of the Madison Institutes, he is responsible for coordinating the office's efforts relating to hosting the various We The People Institutes, coordinating the University's May and December commencement exercises and providing support in the VA-06 district for both the We the People and Project Citizen programs of the Center for Civic Education. In addition he provides support to the JMU Emeriti Association (an organization whose purpose is to provide opportunities for continued involvement in the University for retired emeritus faculty) and works on other projects related to Academic Affairs and the greater mission of the division and university.

Catherine Holmes (photo)

Catherine Holmes, is the Administrative Assistant for the Madison Institutes. She joined James Madison University in the fall of 2006 after 30 years as a high school teacher in Rockingham County.

As the office's Administrative Assistant, she is the backbone to the daily operations of all of the office's projects, including the "We The People..." Institutes, the University's May and December commencement exercises and supporting the JMU Emeriti Association.

Through her efforts, Catherine helps to foster the exchange of talents and resources of alumni, students, friends, faculty and administration to advance the mission of James Madison University-a student-centered institution. To contact Catherine, click here.
