Drills

                The Harrisonburg-Rockingham LEPC conducts an annual drill to test the readiness of the area emergency services, law enforcement agencies and the various other community and business groups to respond to an emergency situation.

                The last drill was conducted on Saturday September 8th on Route 42 North (Virginia Avenue) in Harrisonburg.  The incident was an accident which involved a propane tanker that struck a small truck carrying pesticides, causing this truck to hit a van .  

Arriving response agencies found the following: The agencies involved in this drill were:
  • Propane Tanker with small leak

  • Pesticides leaking from damaged truck

  • Van with 5 injured occupants

  • Incident in a residential area

 

  • Harrisonburg Fire Department

  • Harrisonburg Police Department

  • Rockingham County Department of Fire/Rescue

  • Rockingham County Sheriffs Department

  • Virginia State Police

  • Harrisonburg Rescue Squad

  • Bridgewater Rescue Squad

  • Broadway Rescue Squad

  • Singers Glen Rescue Squad

  • Virginia Department of Transportation

  • Harrisonburg Department of Public Works

  • Rockingham Memorial Hospital
