Position 
Emily Blake is the coodinator for course offerings and advising at the School of Strategic Leadership Studies. She also assists with program publicity projects and communicates with current students as they progress through the program.

Background
Emily has worked in both the nonprofit and education sectors since completing her bachelor's degree at Eastern Mennonite University in 2007.  After working for a short time as an English/Spanish medical interpreter, she became the AmeriCorps Fellow in the DC office of Youth Service Opportunities Project.  From 2008 until joining SSLS in 2012, she served as the Assistant Director of the Washington Community Scholars' Center, an academic internship program of EMU in Washington, D.C. 

Interests
In her free time, Emily enjoys biking, writing music, cooking, practicing Spanish, contra dancing, visiting friends and family, and spending time with her nieces and nephew. Her interests include local food, the environment, and community living.
