Older Women’s Wellness for Life 2019

Formerly the Alumni Health and Wellness Program

The Alumni Health and Wellness Program will be rebranding this year to the OWWL Program (Older Women’s Wellness for Life). Women ages 55 and older are invited to JMU’s campus for a 2-day event to invest in themselves. The weekend includes health and fitness assessments, along with a personalized physical activity/exercise program. Participants will also attend lectures and workshops on topics related to nutrition, motivation, and the importance of physical activity for women's health

The 2019 Older Women’s Wellness for Life Program will be held on Saturday, April 6 – Sunday, April 7.

For more information about the Older Women’s Wellness for Life Program, download our 2018 Alumni Health and Wellness Program (AHWP) Flyer (PDF). The tentative schedule for this year’s OWWL program will look similar to that of the 2018 AHWP program.

Alumni Health and Wellness 2018

The 2018 program was a huge success! Participants participated in clinical and exercise testing, a cooking demonstration, a barre class, and yoga. Additionally, they heard discussions focused on vision planning and the importance of maintaining bone mineral density. Before leaving, each participant received a personalized exercise prescription created by JMU exercise science students. These prescriptions along with their testing results were explained and demonstrated thoroughly by the Morrison Bruce Center staff. We look forward to next year’s program – stay tuned for updates!

Many alumni will receive program information in the mail; however, please feel free to contact the Morrison Bruce Center at morrisonbrucecenter@jmu.edu if you have any questions.
