To carry out its mission, the Center for Liberal and Applied Social Sciences seeks to:

• provide students with an intellectually challenging educational experience with purposeful and versatile career and work world applications
• support faculty creativity and collegiality across disciplines in the quest for new knowledge and understanding
• promote a citizenship of academic life that addresses commitment to community and the larger social good
• encourage faculty investment in undergraduate research, and thus, support faculty reaching and scholarship in this area
• promote an interest in international education among students and faculty
