EFFECTIVE FOR STUDENTS DECLARING THE MAJOR IN THE SUMMER OF 2011 AND BEYOND
JUST 200 is a prerequisite for all JUST courses.
JUST 200 may NOT be taken during the same semester as any other JUST designated course.
You may enroll in a 200 level JUST foundation course(s) for the following semester while you are enrolled in JUST 200.
JUST 200 and a track foundation course are requirements for all 300 level courses.
All majors must complete 6 elective courses designation for their track. Only two of these electives may be non-JUST designated courses.
DOES NOT APPLY TO MAJORS WHO DECLARED BEFORE THE 2011/2012 ACADEMIC YEAR.

We have established a set of prerequisites that will be enforced. At registration time:

*MATH 220 is a prerequisite for enrolling in JUST 201.

Students must have completed (or be enrolled in) JUST 200 in order to sign up for JUST 100.  They cannot be taken in the same semester.

Students must have completed (or be enrolled in) JUST 200 in order to sign up for JUST 300.  They cannot be taken in the same semester.

Students must have completed (or be enrolled in) JUST 200 and MATH 220 in order to sign up for JUST 201.  They cannot be taken in the same semester.

Students must have completed (or be enrolled in) JUST 201 in order to sign up for in JUST 400.  They cannot be taken in the same semester.

JUST 200 and MATH 220 must be completed with a C grade.

This new system will allow all declared justice majors to enroll in any JUST class which does not have JUST 200 or MATH 220 as a prerequisite.

5. The foundation course for the major is JUST 200. There is no community college equivalent.

6. If the community college equivalent of MATH 220 is not taken before coming to JMU, students should expect to take 4 semesters to obtain the degree. If they do take it at a community college it may be reduced to 3 semesters (this is not a guarantee).
