Director
The Director reports to the Associate Vice President of Student Affairs & University Planning and has the responsibility for the following:
- Selection and supervision of administrative and support staff members.
- Coordinates office planning, fulfillment of objectives, resource acquisition and management, etc.
- Provides leadership to the Office of Judicial Affairs.
- Communicates procedures, polices and responsibilities of functional area.
- Ensures the effectiveness of the Office of Judicial Affairs by identifying and utilizing benchmarks in program delivery and evaluation.
- Communicates office priorities and issues with the broader university community.
- Prepares reports, statistics, presentation, etc. related to functional area.
- Represents departmental and university interests on external committees and projects; utilizes expertise and knowledge to facilitate programs and services in other areas of the university.
- Serves as a hearing officer for administrative option hearings.
Associate Director - Judicial Council & Assessment
- Supervises graduate student responsible for Judicial Council coordination, recruitment, and training.
- Supervises the two student judicial coordinators and graduate practicum students.
- Coordinates office assessment efforts.
- Serves as a hearing officer for administrative option hearings.
- Serves as adviser for victims of violence and sexual assault.
Assistant Director - Substance Education
- Coordinates staff development and training.
- Coordinates the development and facilitation of all educational programs.
- Assists with assessment of educational programs.
- Ensures sanction completion for all students.
- Supervises graduate assistant responsible for graduate assistants responsible for educational program coordination/facilitation and Back on Track program facilitation.
- Selects, trains, and supervises undergraduate program assistants.
- Coordinates the publication of the Student Handbook.
- Serves as hearing officer for administrative option hearings.
- Facilitates undergraduate practicum class training students to be peer educators.
Assistant Director - Case Management
- Manages all cases, places charges and closes cases.
- Manages departmental budget.
- Supervises administrative assistant of front desk.
- Supervises programs and technology administrative assistant .
- Serve as a hearing officer for administrative option hearings.
- Manages office database.
- Serves as office manager.
Assistant Director - Civic Learning
- Coordinates Civic Learning program.
- Supervises graduate student responsible for Civic Learning
- Serves as a hearing officer for administrative option hearings.
- Facilitates sanctioned programs and outreach presentations.
Administrative Assistant (Front Desk)
- Coordinates meetings and manages appointment schedules.
- Serves as initial contact for students, parents, faculty, staff, and other federal and state agencies.
- Maintains student files.
- Trains and supervises office assistant.
- Assists with management of departmental budget.
- Coordinates personnel paperwork, purchase requisitions, and travel arrangements.
- Coordinates off-campus adjudication and parental notification process.
Administrative Assistant (Programs & Technology)
- Serves as primary customer service provider for Educational Programs
- Answers all immediate questions from students and other constituents regarding university policies and judicial process while maintaining confidentiality
- Screens and responds appropriately to all telephone calls
- Assists with office management responsibilities
- Coordinates and processes all off-campus judicial assignments and maintains paperwork
- Coordinates and processes all parental notification and maintains paperwork
- Manages outstanding sanctions
- Provides effective supervision for student assistants and communicates efficiently with program assistants
- Manages and improves Judicial Affairs website.
- Annually updates Student Handbook online.
Graduate Assistant - Judicial Council
- Coordinates the selection and training of new judicial council members.
- Coordinates judicial council hearings.
- Serves as a hearing officer for administrative option hearings.
- Supervises student staff.
- Facilitates sanctioned programs and outreach presentations.
Graduate Assistant - Civic Learning
- Helps coordinate the Civic Learning program.
- Coordinates student staff development activities.
- Serves as a hearing officer for administrative option hearings.
- Facilitates sanctioned programs, reflection groups, and outreach presentations.
Graduate Assistant - Substance Education
- Assists with supervision of program assistants.
- Coordinates and facilitates Values In Action and Calling the Shots Programs.
- Serves as hearing officer for administrative option hearings.
- Assists with handbook updates and program assessment development and implementation.
Graduate Student - Back on Track Program Facilitator
- Facilitates Back on Track, a five-week alcohol/drug program.
Student Judicial Coordinator
- Represents student body in Judicial Affairs.
- Serves as hearing officer for administrative option hearings.
- Assists with coordination of judicial council.
Program Assistant - Civic Learning
- Assists with Civic Learning Program Coordination.
- Facilitates "Values in Action" programs and Civic Learning reflection groups.
- Assists with general office responsibilities.
Program Assistant - Substance Education
- Assists with program coordination.
- Facilitates sanctioned programs.
- Assists with general office responsibilities.
Office Assistant - Front Desk
- Performs general office responsibilities.
- Provides office supervision when administrative staff is in meetings or out of the office.
- Conducts disciplinary verifications.
- Creates case folders and maintain an organized filing system of judicial documents.
- Assists with parental notification process.
- Assists in providing customer service.
- Assists administrative assistants with general office tasks.
- Corresponds with council members (faculty and students) as needed.
