Back on Track: Final Paper
THE BASICS:
- The paper must be completed and turned in no later than the last class
session.
- All papers must be typed and double-spaced.
- Length of paper must reach at least 3 pages.
- All papers must be free of grammatical and spelling errors.
- A grade of “P” for Pass must be given by facilitator to be
considered complete.
IF YOU ARE IN THE PRECONTEMPLATION, CONTEMPLATION, OR PREPARATION STAGES:
- How would you know when it is time to make changes? What would need to happen
for you to believe that you have a substance use problem?
- What changes can you make now to prevent you from getting in trouble again?
- What are your dreams and goals in life? How has alcohol or drugs affected
those dreams up to this point? Could your current substance use patterns affect
the completion of your dreams and goals?
- What resources would you feel comfortable utilizing in order to get help?
For instance: Friends, family, any JMU or community resources.
IF YOU ARE TAKING ACTION OR READY TO TAKE ACTION:
- How have you made it to the point you are at now… what things will
you continue to do?
- What barriers do you foresee, and how will you overcome those barriers?
- What people have helped you get to where you are now?
- What are your dreams and goals in life? How has alcohol or drugs affected
those dreams up to this point?
WHAT YOUR PAPER SHOULD NOT INCLUDE:
- Your criticisms about the Back on Track Program.
- Your criticisms about your sanction.
- Your criticisms concerning your facilitator.
