JMU and the Shenandoah Valley

We are glad that you are considering visiting our campus, located in the center of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley.

The heart of our institution is our students - all 17,000 strong. Sporting purple and gold most days, they drive the activity of our vibrant campus. They also drive the work of the faculty and staff, who aim to build connections and relationships in order to "prepare students to be educated and enlightened citizens..."

Home to the 2004 NCAA Division I-AA national champion football team, JMU currently offers 62 different undergraduate major programs, including a top-ranked business program (BusinessWeek magazine ranks us top 5 percent nationally among undergrad B-schools). Our campus food has also gained national recognition, garnering the No. 5 spot for "great campus food" based on student surveys in the Princeton Review's most recent annual college guide.
