After providing Hip-Hop's historical context, she will define its very complex culture in both a broad and narrow sense. Dr. Hicks Harper will focus on Hip-Hop's positive side while acknowledging its negative realities. Relevant excerpts from her new book entitled: Hip-Hop DevelopmentTM: Exploring Hip- Hop as a Youth Engagement Tool for Successful Community Building will be highlighted. "Hip-Hop Development™: From Expression to Commodity" will break down techniques that integrate Hip-Hop in ways that support not only U.S. economy but also the lives of this country's most disadvantaged children, youth, and families.
