Harrisonburg’s Annual International Festival will take place on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009 from noon to 6 p.m. The annual event, located at Hillandale Park, is a celebration of cultural diversity in Harrisonburg and the surrounding communities.
Cultural groups from around the world will showcase their culture and linguistic values through activities, food, art, language and dance. The family fun event also hosts a Green Village, for those interested in local green efforts.
Attendance for the event is estimated to be about 6,500. The event is accessible to older adults and disabled individuals. Parking at Hillandale Park is prohibited except for handicapped and HOV4 parking. All others can take the park-and-ride shuttle from Memorial Hall and Westover Park. JMU students enrolled in HTH 100 may use this as a passport wellness event.
More information regarding the festival can be found on the festival Web site.
