Dream Come True Playground 5K Walk/Run
The Student Occupational Therapy Association (SOTA) is raising money for the Dream Come True Playground by holding a 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, March 28. The Dream Come True Playground is currently in the process of being built and will be located on the East Side of Neff Avenue. The fully accessible playground is designed for all children with and without disabilities. The playground will include traditional playground equipment as well as specialized adaptive equipment. This project continues to be an all volunteer effort and is estimated to cost more than $400,000. This is an important cause to support in order to make every child feel included and able to participate in one of the fundamental activities of development...play!!
The race will take place on Festival Lawn on JMU's campus and registration will begin at 8:00 am. The race will begin at 9am and conclude at Noon. The cost of the 5K Walk/Run will be $12.00 and any donations toward the Dream Come True Playground are welcomed. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers and breakfast and drinks will be available after the race.
We are very excited about this event and hope to have a big turnout so invite all your friends and family. If you would like more information about the race or the Dream Come True Playground please contact Jamie Roldan at jmoroldan@gmail.com. Hope to see all of you there!
