Library Collections Moving in June

Heads Up! The library collections will be on the move this summer.

We are busy preparing for the new East Campus Library opening on August 11, and one big milestone is that all library materials will be moved between June 16 and July 3. Some materials will be moved to the East Campus Library and the collections remaining in Carrier Library will all be rearranged, so one way or another, your favorite library materials will soon be in a new location.

As you can imagine it is a huge project to move every single item on the library shelves and at times during the move different areas of the stacks will be inaccessible. If you need something that is inaccessible just ask at the Carrier Library circulation desk and staff will retrieve items for next day pick up. If you have a summer class that will need to use specific library materials after June 16 please consider discussing the need ahead of time with library staff so we can make special arrangements as appropriate. We will do everything possible to minimize inconvenience during the move.

Collections Moving to the new East Campus Library

All circulating books with call numbers Q, R, S, and T
Selected reference books, journals, and media titles
The new location for these items will be reflected in LEO Library Catalog. Between June 16 and August 11 items from the East Campus Library may be requested through the library delivery service. On August 11 the East Campus Library will open for business and the collections will be accessible in person as well as through the delivery service.

Bound Journals: Stack Level 2A and Stack Level 3
Call Numbers A - B: Stack Level 4
Call Numbers C - D: Second Floor, old building
Call Numbers E - K: Second Floor, new building
Call Numbers L- P, U - Z: Third Floor
Government Documents: Stack Level 5

Library Delivery Service

Right now ...

Anyone may request that circulating books and media be delivered from one library location to another for more convenient check out.
Faculty, staff, and graduate students may request electronic delivery of articles from paper or microform journals in the library collection.

Coming soon ...

Undergraduate students will also be able to request electronic delivery of articles. Faculty and staff will be able to request book and media delivery to departmental mailboxes.
