HARRISONBURG — On Wednesday, Nov. 28, construction will resume along South Main Street. The work is part of James Madison University's viaduct project, which will provide a below street-level crossing of South Main Street to the new Performing Arts Center.

This phase is expected to begin Wednesday at 6 p.m. and conclude Thursday, Nov. 29, at 8 a.m. During this period, Columbia Gas will make final tie-ins and energize utility lines.

Traffic will be affected between Bluestone Drive and Patterson Street. One southbound lane and the center turning lane will be blocked. While Main Street will remain open during this project, Route 42 (High Street) can also be used as an alternative route between Cantrell Avenue and Maryland Avenue.
