Virginia Repertory Dance Company Performs

HARRISONBURG — The James Madison University School of Theatre and Dance will showcase outstanding choreography and dance when it presents the Virginia Repertory Dance Company in concert. Founded in 1983, the VRDC is made up of JMU dance majors planning to pursue performance-related careers.
DATES: Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 6-8, 2007
TIME: 8 p.m.
LOCATION: Latimer-Shaeffer Theatre, Duke Hall, JMU
Artistic Director Kate Trammell has assembled a talented group of JMU dancers to perform the choreography of JMU faculty and guest artists. The 2007 VRDC members are Meghan Ballard, Sarah Birgfeld, Jillian Boelte, Ilana Burger, Lindsey Golden, Allie Larson, Ashley Tucker and Kate Yow.
The concert will feature the choreography of Washington, D.C., area guest artists:
- Meisha Bosma, founder and director of BosmaDance
- Adrienne Clancy, artistic director and founder of ClancyWorks Dance Company
- Jim Lepore, professor of dance at George Mason University and associate director of the White Mountain Summer Dance Festival
- Erika Schonemann, co-director of NextReflex Dance Collective and an adjunct professor at Marymount University.
Resident choreographers Shane O'Hara and Cynthia Thompson will also present new works. JMU faculty members Jenner Brunk and Emily Becher-McKeever are costume designer and lighting designer, respectively.
Tickets are $10 general admission and $8 for children under 12, senior citizens and JACard holders. The box office is located in Room 1107, Harrison Hall and is open from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
