Harold Burson, the founder and chairman of the world's largest public relations firm, will lecture on the future of global public relations as part of the James Madison University Visiting Scholars Program.

Burson's topic is "Good Citizenship and Good Business: The Challenging Future of Global Public Relations."
A "PRWeek" survey described Burson as "the century's most influential PR figure." Burson founded his own business in 1946 and established Burson-Marsteller in 1953 in partnership with the Marsteller advertising agency.
During his extensive career, Burson has influenced the thinking of a number of Fortune 100 companies. His clients have included Old Navy, Sony, Botox and Barilla pasta.
Admission to the presentation is free and open to the public. Burson's JMU appearance is sponsored by the School of Communication Studies, Nelson Institute for International and Public Affairs and Office of Communication and Marketing.
Burson is a member of the university's newly formed Public Relations Advisory Task Force.
