JMU OPERA THEATER TO SPOTLIGHT MOZART WORKS OCT. 26-28 | |

From: Media Relations October 23, 2000HARRISONBURG The James Madison University Opera Theater will perform scenes from six of Wolfgang Mozart's operas, including the popular "The Marriage of Figaro," Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 26-28, in Wilson Hall Auditorium. "A Mozart Celebration" also will showcase scenes from "The Impresario," "Don Giovanni," "Women Are Like That," "The Magic Flute" and "The Abduction from the Seraglio" in each 8 p.m. performance. JMU music students and faculty will perform in the scenes, which will be directed by John Bell, an associate professor of musical theater/opera at JMU. Sonya Gabrielle Baker, an assistant professor of music, is the production's vocal director and will also sing, and Professor Robert McCashin will conduct the opera orchestra. Tickets for the performances are $8 for adults and $6 for senior citizens, children and those with JMU access cards.
