From: Office of the President
JMU's annual faculty-staff picnic will be held on Monday, August 22.
The picnic will once again be held on the Festival Conference and Student Center rear lawn beginning at 5 p.m. and concluding at 8 p.m. Faculty and staff are invited to bring their immediate family. JMU will provide a picnic-style dinner, dessert and non-alcoholic beverages as well as beer and wine.
Parking will be available in lots C10 and C12.
Rockingham County's popular band Bryan Elijah Smith and the Wild Hearts will perform from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Their sound is often categorized as "Alternative Americana," a pleasant mix of folk with a hint of blues and rock. They will perform both their own original songs as well as popular hits by artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, Dire Straits and Neil Young.
In the event of severe weather conditions, the picnic will be held indoors in the lower and upper levels of the Festival Center.
Faculty and staff are asked to reply to the event. Additional information and a link to REPLY is available on the website at www.jmu.edu/fspicnic.
We hope you will be able to attend!
