During times of inclement weather it is necessary for the university to close facilities and curtail services.

All events scheduled March 2, 2009 between 8:00am and 12:00 midnight are CANCELED unless otherwise posted below:


    •Festival Conference and Student Center Events– none posted
    •Madison Union (Warren/Taylor/Grafton) Events – none posted; building closes at 6pm
    •Events in Academic Buildings – none posted
    •Athletic Events – check on http://www.jmusports.com

To learn if James Madison University is open, closed or opening late in the event of snow, ice or other inclement weather, JMU students, employees, and guests should check for information via one of these options:
    •Online at the main JMU Web site at http://www.jmu.edu under "The Newsroom," or on the Faculty/Staff or Current Students gateways under "JMU News."
    •Phone 433-5300 for a recorded message
    •Within Harrisonburg, listen to 1610 AM on your radio
    •Tune in to local radio or TV stations for announcements. NOTE: Most commercial stations only announce closings or late openings.

The university community and the public are asked NOT to call campus police or campus operator lines for weather information so that those phone lines are not tied up.
