On Oct. 2, a bronze statue of Mahatma Gandhi was unveiled and dedicated at JMU. A gift from the Government of India in recognition of the work of the Mahatma Gandhi Center for Global Nonviolence at JMU, the statue is the first of Mahatma Gandhi in Virginia and the third at a college campus in the U.S. See pictures from the dedication.

David Ellis, Treasurer of the Black Alumni Chapter, is leading the BAC's newest student scholarship campaign, "$100 for the 100th." The goal is to raise $20,000 by Homecoming 2008.
